Section 1: Shapotou
Tengger Desert
Shapotou is a small village in the Ningxia province, sandwiched between the sand dunes of the Tengger
Desert and the Yellow River. It is a quiet and very pleasant place to stay.
Water wheel at the Yellow River
The small mountain village Beichangtai has the last operational water wheel. We
made the way back to Shapotou by an 5 hours leather raft on the Yellow River.
